I'd like to begin this post by stating how much I love picture books! I especially love using them for secondary English instruction.
I love a good latte. I also love going to coffee shops that aren't large chains. Nothing against the S-word, of course. I just like to support local businesses. My only requirement is work space and WiFi.
You know what is probably difficult for a young teen to understand? That pride and shame can coexist. Sometimes an awful person does great things, or a good person does reprehensible things.
